Rooted in Woodland Park
Carol and her husband, Kirk, have proudly called Woodland Park home since 2004. Their three children are graduates of Woodland Park High School. Their son is now 12 years into his career with the U.S. Air Force, while both daughters are actively engaged in Christian ministry work.
As longtime residents, Carol and Kirk have remained deeply involved in the life of the community—sponsoring Air Force Cadets from 2009 to 2023 and actively participating in Woodland Park Community Church.
Dedicated to Local Education
Carol’s connection to Woodland Park schools runs deep. She began by volunteering alongside the athletic trainer while her children were students, eventually sharing the official role of athletic trainer for two years. From 2010 to 2019, Carol served on the Woodland Park Board of Education—including four years as Board President.
Her involvement didn’t stop when her term ended. Carol has continued working with the district to coordinate preseason sports physicals and remains a regular attendee at school board meetings. Her ongoing interest reflects a strong desire to stay informed and engaged in the decisions affecting local students and families.
Professional Career
Carol has served Woodland Park as a physical therapist for 20 years. Now semi-retired, she has both the time and energy to focus on this next chapter of public service. Her professional background has given her the opportunity to work with a diverse cross section of our community and has given her a unique perspective on health, youth development, and community well-being—all of which are vital to a thriving school system.
Ready to Serve—Again
Carol is ready to bring immediate value to the Woodland Park Board of Education. She understands that there’s a steep learning curve with any public office, especially in education. But with her prior experience, she’s already equipped with a working knowledge of education law, challenges facing public schools, extracurricular costs and benefits, and—critically—school finance.
She also values transparency and collaboration. During her final term on the board, she worked successfully with a diverse group—three Republicans, one Democrat, and one Unaffiliated member—where politics never got in the way of doing what was best for students.

Carol has always worked for the benefit of the entire Woodland Park community. She believes schools are a unifying force in an increasingly divided world—a place where families can come together to celebrate student achievement, whether through academics, athletics, or the arts.
She is passionate about rebuilding the essential partnerships between schools, families, and the broader public, and she has a proven track record of doing just that.

She is committed to listening to all stakeholders, learning what parents want for their children, and supporting the educators and administrators who dedicate themselves every day to student success.
