I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to serve our community on the WPSD Board of Education.
Throughout my campaign my love for this community has deepened and my hope for the future of our schools has grown. We live in a community that cares about our kids and wants the best for their future.
To those I met while knocking on doors or at events please engage with our schools. Attend the performances and sporting events. Come to board meetings. If you are one of the retired community members that wants to share your expertise, message me.
To those who helped in so many ways with my campaign or provided words of encouragement. Thank you so much!
To those who voted for me, thank you for your trust in my leadership. I will work hard to deserve it.
To those who voted for another candidate, I want to hear from you. I hope to earn your trust in the coming months.
I believe in this community. I believe we can come together for the future of our kids. We are in this together for the district, let's link arms and do this!
I received several requests for surveys from multiple sources. I chose to respond to The Pikes Peak Courier and Ballotpedia.
The Pikes Peak Courier surveyed all candidates with questions centered around the issues that are relevant to Woodland Park School District. I appreciate their attempt to hit the primary issues they have heard from the community. I also appreciate the freedom to use our own words to answer the questions. Their guide is published online with the link below:

And Vote yes for Greenstreet on November 4!

I have heard throughout the community that if I am elected, I will try to close or remove the charter from Merit Academy. That is simply not true.
I know many families who are well served by Merit Academy. Clearly school choice is a value for this community. Were my children living in Woodland Park, they would make different choices for their families. One family is looking for a classical education for their children and would choose Merit Academy. One family currently enjoys their neighborhood public school and would choose Columbine or Summit.
By Colorado State Statutes, Charter school contracts can only be terminated if the charter school fails to comply with the contract’s terms or fails academically. In this unlikely, undesired event- I remain a BOE member concerned with the whole district. Therefore, I would first seek to facilitate contractual and/or academic compliance, not school closure.
I admire the hard work of Merit Academy’s Board and their efforts to advocate for the needs of their school and students. I respect their full authority to set policy, make hiring decisions, determine curriculum and set their own budget.
I believe WPSD BOE can and should do a better job of focusing on their responsibility to do the same for Columbine, Summit and WPSD Jr/Sr high. Now that the MA Charter is set for 30 years, I believe the focus of the BOE must be on these schools.
If I am elected, I will seek to engage with the MA board to find ways we might collaborate for the good of the full district. I will include the MA board in discussion around any decisions that impact their school. I will encourage staff and students to work together across all district schools.
What is past is just that, past. We must look to the future. We must remember that school choice includes the 4 public schools currently in our district, private schools, homeschooling, and the possibility of future charter schools.
With changing enrollment patterns, we must look to the future. Challenges that arise from this must be addressed by engaging the whole community. As a community, we must care about all students, all schools.
Our son was 10 years old when the planes hit the towers on 9/11/2001. We were grateful that our children’s school decided it was the parents’ responsibility to decide how, when and what to tell their children. I remember that conversation after school.
My husband and I decided to allow our son to watch news coverage with us, as we were aware we might still be fighting the battle that was sure to come when he was military age.
We are grateful for the teachers and coaches our son had at WPMS and WPHS in the coming years that encouraged him and supported his decision to go to the Air Force Academy. We are grateful to the community that supported and encouraged him while he was there. We are grateful for the community that continues to support and pray for him and many others while he continues to serve our country.
This picture was taken on 9/12/2009.
Today, I am grateful for the service of all first responders and military that think of others before self.

I believe it’s our kids. We all want them to have a strong education, opportunities to grow through sports, arts, and leadership, and the support they need as they step into life after high school. When our kids succeed—whether as welders, chefs, teachers, roofers, or astronauts—we all celebrate together.
Just last week, a friend shared that she and her neighbor, who rarely vote the same, both chose to support me. That gave us hope—and reminded me of what we need right now: leaders who listen to everyone, respect differences, and support all students in every school.
As a physical therapist and former WPSD School Board member, I’ve built genuine relationships across our community, always putting people above politics. I want to do that again. I want to be a bridge builder.
Will you join me?
